voice post :: but what are your thoughts on yaoi?

[[ Filtered away from Minato-sensei, but otherwise public ]]

Well, that was fun.

Considering Kevin-kun's ...reevaluation of his own sexuality, I have to wonder if anyone else had such an enlightening event week--Or if everyone else would react to waking up in bed with someone of the same gender... with quite so much finesse.

For that matter, what are your thoughts on same gender relationships? I know we have a few here. Not everyone can possibly share Kevin-kun's rather...limited view of this matter, hm?

For? Against? Indifferent?

My thoughts are that you should love whom you love. I have both male and female lovers and I do not see why one would set a restriction from loving one form over another.

I was also raised differently than most others.

Always a good philosophy. Of course, for someone like you, I'd imagine you'd have your pick of lovers anyway.

Oh, some people have ideas about tradition, and gender roles, I guess. You're lucky to be free of such things.

Sometimes it is difficult. Here, I do not understand why some people would fear things. Or limit others abilities because they are male or female.

Culture shock, yeah. Well...people carry with them prejudices, traditions, and morals from their home-worlds that not all of us share, but I guess we each expect others to believe some of the same basic things we do. ...I don't know. Some people are just afraid of things that are different.

Anyway, at its most basic, I guess this one comes from the truth that two men--or two women, for that matter--cannot produce children, and in some cultures, that's what matters in a marriage, not love.

My people value love over all things. There is no sense of marriage, but there are bonds and close knit families. Children are few, but they are cherished.
