Yep. Obito died saving Kakashi (who up until that point played strictly by the ninja rulebook of no friends, emotions, etc), and a boulder crushed him instead, so he gave Kakashi the Sharingan as a gift, to protect their teammate. Ulq's awesome that way, though! We need more people willing to piss other characters off! XDD
