[The interior of Kakashi's apartment. The PCD is on the floor, and shows Kakashi standing by a wall, his back to the PCD. He finishes hanging a photograph. The wall is full of photos of people who have been here--some still here, some not. Many of the photos are ones taken by Maes at various events.]

[Kakashi turns to get another frame from the nearby table, and stops, noticing the PCD is on. He picks it up, turning it to look at the wall of images. Some are still hung up with tape, or a pin through their top. Others are framed.]

Being here a while, I've seen a lot of these faces come and go and come again...

[Pan over. A sigh. There's a picture of a whole Team Seven, minus Kakashi.]

Hm. I should get one of your whole team, too, Gai.

[Pause. With amusement.] Speaking of, maybe your household is inappropriately named by now, huh? The House of Youth, or House of Gai might be more appropriate.

And Anko's household could be the House of Girls?

Though I admit it could use a new layer, I personally would vouch for a more neutral color overall. Gai-sensei can have his room the way that suits him, but the rest of the house will not be painted such.

I have nothing against you calling it your own, Neji. And to be honest, I was merely remarking on the fact that, as it is the "Team Gai household" and not "Neji and his nestlings" anymore, it really isn't what earned it the title of Hyuuga Household in the first place. But if you voice your concerns without an attitude or iron fist...consideration can happen.

What I had issue with was how you go about objecting to your sensei's enthusiastic ideas and calling the house "yours" without considering that it is, in fact "yours, Lee's, Tenten's, and Gai's". You know how Gai is. But you can't-- But I won't tolerate you talking to your sensei like you can command him. It can be your house without you lording over every inch of it. There's some saying about the strong reed bending, lest it risk breaking. To be part of a team, you have to be that reed sometimes. A team is give and take. Know what battles to be unyielding against--paint color is not one of them if it makes half your house feel unwelcome.

But, as I said, if you chose only for it to go by your rules, then it truly is the Hyuuga Household.

[Kakashi nods, faintly, the pinch of his brows indicating worry, or disappointment, or loneliness, or something else vaguely unreadable. He sighs, and puts the PCD down on the table. You get a shot of the ceiling for a few minutes and the sound of footsteps walking away before it times out.]
